About Us

The Heights Charter is a public, TK-8th, independent study charter. We are located in Alpine, CA, but provide education services for students spread throughout San Diego County. Our charter offers a variety of education programs with the goal of working as a team with our families to provide a quality education for all our students. Please contact us for more information if you think The Heights Charter would be a fit for your child.

Our Curriculum

Students enrolled at The Heights Charter have access to direct instruction in the core subject areas (math, reading, writing, science, and social studies); in addition to receiving instruction in Spanish. Students also have the option of participating in a variety of electives, such as music and drama.

Our Mission Statement

The Heights Charter is founded on the belief that all children are born with the capacity for excellence. Our goal is to enable students to become self-motivated, competent, and lifelong learners. We provide students with a rigorous, standards-based program within a small school nurturing environment that incorporates strong family and community ties. To this end, we offer a non-traditional K-8 independent study/hybrid program that offers on-site classes along with individually designed curriculum and direction.
